BACKGROUND
McLeod Cooperative Power has served the area as a premier provider of electricity since 1935. McLeod is a member-owned cooperative that provides electricity to more than 6,000 residents, businesses and industries in central Minnesota, primarily in McLeod, Renville, Sibley, and Carver counties
CHALLENGE
McLeod Cooperative Power had a few challenges they were looking to solve in regards to furniture and technology. Firstly, a decision had to be made whether to bring old furniture or purchase new furniture for the new building, with the objective of achieving a uniform look throughout. Secondly, there was a need to determine the organization’s true needs and the types of spaces required for productivity and success. Thirdly, the existing audio and visual technology was inadequate and caused difficulties in setting up conference meetings. There was also a challenge in finding an easy-to-use video and conferencing solution, especially since outside vendors were allowed to use the conference room. Lastly, challenges related to the height of work surfaces and the coordination with built-ins and multiple furniture manufacturers needed to be addressed.
OBJECTIVES
- Create a welcoming and inviting reception area with a “wow factor” while maintaining a uniform look throughout the new office building.
- Implement easy-to-use audio & visual technology for seamless meeting experiences
- Ensure quick plug-and-play technology in the small conference rooms
- Provide all-in-one conferencing solutions for efficient and user-friendly audio and visual communication.
- Incorporate height-adjustable workstations in private offices to enhance ergonomics and flexibility.
SOLUTION
To address the challenges and achieve the objectives, Innovative implemented various solutions. In terms of furniture, private offices were equipped with height-adjustable workstations, ensuring ergonomic flexibility. The reception and lobby area were designed to create an inviting atmosphere, serving as the heartbeat of the office. The large conference room and small conference rooms were furnished to accommodate productive meetings. Regarding technology, the boardroom was equipped with comprehensive audio and visual solutions, while the small conference rooms had quick plug-and-play technology for efficient meetings, including smaller video conferencing solutions with screen sharing capabilities. The aim was to provide all-in-one conferencing solutions that were fast, user-friendly, and ready to use upon activation.
RESULTS
Innovative achieved significant results that surpassed expectations. The integration of new furniture and audiovisual design in the new building successfully created a uniform, inviting, and functional space. The lobby area fulfilled its purpose, eliciting positive reactions from visitors. The Innovative team’s expertise in asking the right questions and understanding the customer’s needs guided the process and led to the creation of a great space for the Mcleod team. The incorporation of height-adjustable workstations in offices proved to be a fantastic addition that was frequently utilized. Furthermore, the implementation of improved audio and visual technology, especially in the conference room, saved valuable time and provided a faster, easier, and user-friendly solution. The all-in-one video conferencing solution streamlined communication and enhanced productivity.
