2025 DOUBLE PLAYS FOR CHARITY

Community Programs - Twins

Along with the Minnesota Twins & Uni Brands, we are sponsors of the Double Plays for Charity program. During the regular MLB season, each time the Twins complete a Double Play, Innovative will donate $100 to the 4 6 3 Foundation (up to $2500 maximum) for the first half of the 2025 season.

About the 4 6 3 Foundation

Reduce Stigma. Build Hope. End Suicide.

The 4 6 3 Foundation works to help youth and families understand that there are not always symptoms or red flags leading to a suicide, that suicide is not reliably predictable, and to highlight the importance of access to resources, having difficult conversations and providing education around mental health. Through these conversations they want to help erase the stigma around mental health challenges and suicide and to build hope for our kids and families.

“Our mission is to connect youth and their parents, coaches and mentors with mental health awareness and suicide prevention resources and techniques through engagement at schools, youth sporting events, and youth organizations. “

Liam’s Story

We lost Liam on February 1, 2021, to suicide…Liam was an athlete, an artist, a boy scout, a great student, a kind friend and a leader…there were no symptoms or red flags. Our hearts are broken, but Liam lived his life big in his short 15 years…and we felt we owed him our energy to carry on his legacy by helping other kids and families avoid the nightmare that we have endured.

Liam was a second baseman and there is no greater defensive force multiplier in baseball than turning a double play. Liam has flipped the ball to us; it is our job to continue the play and end teen suicide. Our goal is to connect youth and their parents, coaches and mentors with suicide prevention resources and techniques through engagement at youth sporting events, schools, and youth organizations.

We started the 4 6 3 Foundation in the Spring of 2021 to help youth and families understand that there are not always symptoms or red flags leading to a suicide, that suicide is not reliably predictable, and to highlight the importance of access to resources, having difficult conversations and providing education around mental health. Through these conversations we want to help erase the stigma around mental health challenges and suicide and to build hope for our kids and families.

Suicide is the leading cause of death of young people (10-24) in the state of North Dakota and Minnesota and is the second leading cause of death for the same age group in the nation. It is our goal, while teaming with other similar organizations, that we can increase our impact on this community and region.

The 4 6 3 Foundation works to accomplish our mission through a variety of events and activities. They speak in middle school, high school and college classes and teams and organizations within the schools. They present to business and organizations. They also work with Scouts of America through the Sentinel Training Program created to train scouts and their leaders about mental health and suicide. The Shine the Light Film Festival created and hosted by the Foundation encourages high school and college students to create short films about mental health and hope. Their biggest event is the Liam G Medd Memorial Baseball Tournament, which started in June 2021, where they welcome travel and all star teams from across the region, country and even from Canada to play in competitive tournament with a focus on mental health and suicide prevention.
