SANFORD HEALTH – Streamlining Branded Merchandise Across a Multi-State Health System

Sanford Health is one of the largest integrated health systems in the United States, dedicated to improving the human condition through exceptional care, innovation, and discovery. Headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Sanford operates more than 50 hospitals and 200 clinics across nine states, with a strong commitment to advancing rural healthcare.

CHALLENGES

With thousands of employees and departments across multiple regions, Sanford Health needed a streamlined way to manage branded merchandise and apparel while maintaining brand consistency, speed of delivery, and flexibility for departmental customization.

Their internal teams required a reliable, compliant platform to order everything from promotional items and event materials to personalized lab coats and apparel—without overburdening their staff or creating logistical delays.

To create a centralized, easy-to-manage solution that:

  • Ensures compliance with Sanford’s brand standards and logo usage

  • Allows departments to customize apparel and materials efficiently

  • Supports both everyday ordering and one-time campaign or event needs

SOLUTION

Our team developed a custom online store program for Sanford Health that combines fulfillment, on-demand decoration, and creative merchandising solutions—all backed by our warehousing and production capabilities.

  • We stock high-demand Sanford items in our warehouse for quick-turn orders, ensuring consistent availability and fast delivery to departments across the network.
  • Team members can order apparel online and select pre-approved logos or department names for embroidery or print. For example, lab coats stored in our warehouse are decorated with each individual’s name and department upon order—balancing personalization with brand control.
  • Departments choose from a collection of pre-approved t-shirt designs that can be personalized with their department name or message.
  • Many of these designs were created by our in-house graphic designer, providing Sanford teams with a variety of creative yet compliant options.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Stand Up For Children – Child Abuse Prevention Campaign

A child’s drawing inspired this meaningful project. Our design team recreated the art digitally, adding a crayon-style effect for heat transfer printing. The design was featured in a limited-time online pop-up store, offering short sleeve, long sleeve, and crewneck options. Orders were printed, picked, and shipped directly to customers within a two-week window.

Good Samaritan Society Founder’s Crossing Groundbreaking

For the groundbreaking of the new Founder’s Crossing senior living community, our team produced all branded event materials—backdrops, directional signage, sail signs, pens, name tags, umbrellas, and a ceremonial plaque—all completed within just 15 business days to meet the event deadline.
